Who we are
Kaliene (Founder and Artisan)

(Kaliene and Thea)
Hello!
As a dedicated mother, professional with a 9-5 job, and lash extension enthusiast, I thrive on staying busy and making the most of my time. My handcrafting journey began early, inspired by my aunts who taught me the art of origami. Intrigued by how small hands could create beautiful things, I was hooked on crafting from a young age.
My passion for sewing started at 10, thanks to a happy coincidence. Struggling with math, my mother sent me to my father's house, where his wife, a seamstress, worked. While my father helped me with math, the sewing machine captured my interest, and a new passion was born.
I continued my sewing education through high school and even learned traditional silk sewing in Laos in 2014. Though I didn’t use these skills right away, my maternity leave in 2023 inspired me to turn my crafting into a business. Thus, boutique Etcetheara was born, combining my love for handcrafting with entrepreneurship.
Yai (Co-founder and Artisan)
As a mother with a full-time job, I find solace in assembling puzzles and building 3D metal models. Growing up as one of five siblings with close age gaps, we often entertained ourselves with hands-on activities, especially since we experienced childhood without the internet.
This hands-on creativity has always been a part of me. My interest in sewing began during a previous job where we manufactured clothing. I discovered that sewing is not only enjoyable but also a limitless outlet for creativity.
Kaliene, my sister-in-law, and I, along with our close-knit families, frequently meet on weekends to spend time together. It was during these gatherings that she noticed my passion for crafting and invited me to join her in the world of entrepreneurship.
I am thrilled to be a part of our small family business, as it allows us to strengthen our bond through our crafts, bringing our creations from our home to yours.
